After completing his Bachelors Degree in Law at the Università Statale di Milano, followed by film studies at Marco Bellocchio's film workshop, he moved to France. Adriano earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at EICAR, The International Film School of Paris.
He is now a professor at EICAR where he teaches Directing (Bfa) and Film Analysis (Mfa).
Adriano also collaborates with Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts (Beirut), Istituto Marangoni (Paris) and IHB Artmedia (Casablanca).
In 2012 he founded the Association Camera Mundi which organizes film workshops in developing countries.
Adriano is an alumni of both the Berlinale Talent Campus (2012) and the Locarno Film Academy (2012).
He currently lives in Paris and works as a freelance director and screenwriter.
His works have been selected and received awards at the most important worldwide Film Festivals.
Adriano Valerio's most recent short film, "37°4S", was awarded Special Mention by the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival (2013) and David di Donatello for the Best Italian Short Film (2014).
